Volkswagen Golf GTI VI - three- or five-door front-wheel drive C-class hatchback. Represents the segment of the so-called "hot hatches", which are often sported versions of the base models. The Volkswagen Golf GTI VI is an intermediate model for those who are “not enough” with the usual Golf, and “a lot” with the sports all-wheel drive modification of the Golf R.
It differs from the base Golf not only in that it is aggregated with a more powerful engine, but also in external parts. Volkswagen Golf GTI VI adorns a sporty body kit, special design rims. You can’t confuse the GTI version in the stream with the usual Golf.
Volkswagen Golf GTI VI is equipped with the second generation of a two-liter turbocharged engine. Compared to the previous generation, the motor provides better dynamics and efficiency. Like the entire TSI engine family, the Golf GTI's 1,984cc engine puts the owner in complete control of their fuel costs. In mixed mode, the power plant is ready to be content with 7.3 liters of gasoline. The engine power is 210 horsepower, and the maximum torque is 280 Nm and is already available at 1,700 engine revolutions per minute.
Transmissions - six-speed “mechanics” or “robot” DSG with dual clutch, thanks to which the Volkswagen Golf GTI accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.9 seconds. The maximum speed with a manual transmission is 240 km / h, and with a robotic one - 238 km / h.
Responsible for driving performance is a sporty suspension lowered by 22 mm in front and 15 mm in the rear, retuned shock absorbers. Also, the car is equipped with a more powerful brake system with red calipers. In addition, the standard equipment of the Golf GTI VI includes an electronic cross-axle differential lock, which automatically redistributes traction between the drive wheels, which, paired with a sharp steering wheel, provides excellent handling.
The release of the Golf GTI began in 1976. By the time the sixth generation appeared in 2008, 1.7 million copies of the model had been sold in the world. Now Volkswagen is selling off the remnants of the Golf GTI VI, since in March 2013 the company will present the seventh generation of the car, which will receive a more powerful engine.
