The serial Volkswagen T-Roc inherited the design features of the concept of the same name, which the Germans presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. From the showcar, a wide grille, daylight rings closed in rings, developed sidewalls, short overhangs, thin side pillars and a low roof line have been preserved. At the same time, it remained a compact car with a body length of 4.23 m. For comparison, the overall length Volkswagen Golf  - 4.26 m. The wheelbase is almost identical - 2.6 m for the T-Rock versus 2.62 m for the Golf.

And what about the Golf? The fact is that T-Roc shares a platform with it - a modular MQB with a transverse power unit. The trunk volume of the crossover is 445 liters, and with the backrests of the second row folded down - 1290 liters. This is more than all of the above competitors, except for the Honda HR-V, whose trunk during certification measurements contained 470 liters.

The Volkswagen T-Roc is offered in both one-color and two-tone versions. The car is available in a standard version, as well as Style and Sport versions, which differ in decor, design of rims and the shape of the front seats.

The range of engines includes petrol and diesel units: 1.0 TSI (115 hp, 200 Nm), 1.5 TSI Evo (150 hp, 250 Nm), 2.0 TSI (190 hp, 320 Nm), 1.6 TDI (115 hp, 250 Nm) and 2.0 TDI (150 hp and 340 Nm or 190 hp and 400 Nm). 115-horsepower engines are combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" and are installed on front-wheel drive cars. More powerful engines are found on cars with front or all-wheel drive, and are combined with six- and seven-speed DSG “robots”.

The production of the Volkswagen T-Roc crossover is organized at the Volkswagen Autoeuropa plant in Portugal. In addition, the model of the same name is produced in China, but Chinese-assembled cars are not supplied to other countries.
