Volkswagen Polois a three-door five-seat B-class hatchback, which has been firmly established in the top ten best-selling cars in Europe for more than one year. To a large extent, such popularity is explained by the fact that the model appeared back in 1975, that is, two years after the global oil crisis. The Germans did not fail, and by 1979 the small car had sold 500,000 copies.
Now the fifth generation of the Volkswagen Polo is being produced, the place of the public premiere of which was the 2009 motor show in Geneva. The model is supplied to the Ukrainian market with three petrol and one diesel engines. The range of gasoline engines opens with a 70-horsepower “aspirated” 1.2-liter, which is aggregated exclusively by a five-speed manual. As an alternative to the "mechanics", the manufacturer offers a preselective DSG dual-clutch robotic box. It is available for the naturally aspirated 1.4-liter 85-horsepower engine, as well as for the 1.2-liter turbocharged TSI engine with 105 hp.
The economical 75-horsepower turbocharged 1.2-liter diesel engine, which consumes 3.8 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers in mixed mode, is offered only with a five-speed manual.
The three-door hatchback version is the base option and the buyer has the option of choosing a five-door modification. Volkswagen Polo 5dr, which, with the same wheelbase and overall length, has an undeniable advantage - the convenience of boarding / disembarking rear passengers.
